Water police seize unlicensed drilling rig in western Homs countryside
The Water Police in the Homs Water Resources Directorate seized an unlicensed drilling rig in the Talkalakh area of western rural Homs. The rig was being used for illegal well drilling operations. The seizure occurred during intensive monitoring patrols conducted by the Directorate in cooperation with relevant authorities, as part of efforts to protect water resources and curb encroachments on groundwater.
The necessary report was filed against the violator, and the drilling rig was impounded in the Directorate's garage, pending completion of legal procedures in accordance with applicable water legislation.
These measures are part of a water monitoring plan aimed at combating unlicensed drilling, reducing groundwater depletion, and protecting and sustaining water sources.
