The Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa continues to carry out maintenance and rehabilitation works within the irrigation and drainage networks in various sectors, aiming to improve the efficiency of the irrigation system and ensure the stable delivery o

The works in the fourth sector included casting a damaged section on the 44 Hous Canal with a quantity of 11 m³ of concrete of grade 300, along with filling the joints with bitumen material, in addition to treating cavities at several sites within the lower Salhabiya – Seville Canal with excavation, backfilling, and soil compaction works.

Also, raising of weirs and flumes of different diameters was carried out within the second sector on the 16west and 22MG canals to improve water discharge control and regulate water flow, alongside scraper and leveling works of desalination residues on the main Sabahiya Drain to open the paths for agricultural machinery.

On the technical maintenance side, the Gate Workshop followed up on the installation of Nirebek splitters and the repair of a number of gates and water facilities, while the GRP Workshop carried out blockage removal and repair of outlets on irrigation lines in the Al-Karama Al-Bayram area. 
 
Desilting work also continued on a number of canals and drains within Al-Shuraydah, Al-Rajm Al-Abyad, Al-Hayshah, and Hattin, over a total length exceeding 2,200 meters, to improve water flow and enhance the efficiency of irrigation and drainage networks.
 
The directorate confirms that its technical teams and field workshops continue to implement maintenance and rehabilitation plans to support the stability of the agricultural process and improve the irrigation situation in the area.
