The Water Resources Directorate in Daraa is following up on the dredging of streams and valleys and removing blockages that hinder water flow, as part of its efforts to reduce the risks of water accumulation and floods, and to minimise damage to agricultural land during the rainy season.
In the Al-Ashari area, workshops carried out dredging works on parts of the Tafas city sewage channel to improve water drainage and reduce its spread into neighbouring agricultural lands, along with the potential damage this could cause to crops and farmers.
The directorate also continued dredging the sewage channel in the town of Al-Ajmi to facilitate water flow and its reach to the treatment plant, helping to prevent water accumulation and reduce its environmental impact on surrounding areas.
The General Authority for Water Resources extends its thanks to the technical staff and field workshops at the Daraa Water Resources Directorate for their efforts in carrying out the work and addressing water blockages, serving farmers and preserving the safety of agricultural lands and the surrounding environment.
