The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is carrying out dredging and deepening works at the mouth of the Mousa Canal into the sea in the Damsarkhou area, aiming to improve water drainage efficiency and ensure smooth flow, especially during heavy rainfall periods.
The work includes removing deposits, dirt and accumulated obstacles in the watercourse and its outlet, which helps improve its capacity to carry excess water and channel it towards the sea, the final destination for this water.
These actions help reduce water blockages and pooling, and improve the readiness of drainage channels to handle flows during the rainy season, which helps protect surrounding lands and areas from rising water levels.
The General Authority for Water Resources thanks the technical staff and workshops working in the Latakia Water Resources Directorate for their field efforts in carrying out maintenance and cleaning works, and enhancing the efficiency of water drainage facilities.
