Clearing the Belloran river channel as the Belloran dam in Latakia province nears capacity

The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues dredging the Balloran River as part of the regular waterway maintenance programme to keep it efficient and ensure smooth water flow.

This comes as the water level of the Ballouran Dam Lake rises and nears full capacity due to improved water inflows, boosting the water reserves in the governorate.

The dam is one of the most prominent water facilities in Latakia, ranking second in storage capacity among the governorate's dams after the Mashqita Dam.

Monitoring maintenance work and clearing water channels, alongside improved storage at the dam, helps enhance water resource management and supports agricultural use in the governorate.

The General Authority for Water Resources thanks the technical staff and workers at the Latakia Water Resources Directorate for their efforts in carrying out maintenance work and field monitoring of facilities and water channels.
