A field tour to review the summer pumping stations and irrigation canals in Latakia Governorate
Mr. Mohammed Al-Akhras, Head of the Integrated Water Resources Management Department in Latakia, accompanied by Mr. Maher Ali, Deputy Director of Agriculture in the governorate, conducted a field tour of the summer pumping stations and irrigation canals.
The tour aimed to review the final stages of maintenance work on the stations and irrigation canals and to ensure their readiness with the approach of the summer pumping season.
The officials inspected the work sites and listened to explanations from the technical staff regarding the completion rates and the obstacles that had been overcome, emphasizing the necessity of completing the work quickly to ensure that water reaches the agricultural lands on schedule.
They pointed out that the readiness of the pumping stations and irrigation canals is a key factor in supporting the agricultural season and achieving irrigation stability in the governorate's areas.
